As the dust settles on the SBT GRVL race course, we're eager to dig into today's pro-level outcomes. While our team is still crunching the numbers for the GravelRank Women's leaderboard, we've already analyzed the impact on the Men's standings.

The Podium Finishers

  1. Keegan Swenson
  2. Petr Vakoc
  3. Alexey Vermeulen
  4. Peter Stetina
  5. Lachlan Morton

How Did Our Predictions Hold Up?

A few days ago, we rolled out our Predicting the SBT GRVL winners post, where our algorithm ranked the top contenders. While predicting the winner in gravel racing isn't rocket science, our model showed a respectable track record.

Here’s how our forecasted contenders actually fared:

We correctly predicted four of the top seven finishers, which isn’t too shabby, especially considering that two of our predicted racers didn't make it to the starting line. Each race further refines our models, offering increasingly accurate predictions.

The Leaderboard Gets a Shake-up

Our Men's live ratings leaderboard has been swiftly updated to reflect today's exhilarating outcomes. Notably, Petr Vakoc has skyrocketed to the 2nd spot, a move that's hardly surprising given his consistently strong performance this season.

We're also seeing upward movement from Payson McElveen and Lachlan Morton, who are both making strides in the top 10.

Surprises and Confirmations

Alexey Vermeulen and Peter Stetina delivered standout performances. Vermeulen had recently clinched a sprint 2nd at Leadville, while Stetina, after a mechanical issue at Crusher, still managed a 2nd-place finish. Although our model didn’t quite catch their upward trajectory in time for this race, we’re keen to see if they maintain their form in the upcoming BWR and Chequamegon races.
